[The Point] Gabriel John Roberts was born in 1926 in Bathurst (Banjul). He studied in Great Britain, obtaining a Master's Degree and a Post-graduate Diploma in Education. A renowned educationist, he rose to the position of Director of Education. He was once the Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (I.E.C.). He has published several plays, including Mandingerio Outwitted (published in the Ndaanan Literary Magazine), A Coup is Planned (published in the Ndaanan Literary Magazine), and the Trials of Busumbala.
